Allan McElroy, Founder
Allan's passion for luxury furniture began in the 1980s as co-owner of The Patio Place retail showroom in Calgary, AB. The Patio Place was an innovative destination store in Calgary at the time, and experienced rapid growth with a product offering that was previously unavailable in the region. Reflecting on his store's success, Allan realized that the brands that were so successful in his showroom were not broadly represented across the country. He felt there was a a unique opportunity in the Canadian marketplace, and in 1989 he sold his share in The Patio Place to launch McElroy Marketing Services Inc.
For the past 32 years, Allan has partnered with retailers and residential designers across the country to help them grow their businesses with leading manufacturers and suppliers in the Casual Furniture industry. His experience as a retailer gives him an understanding of both the joys and the challenges of specialty retail, and he takes great care in connecting with store owners and their staff through every step of the retail process, from first order placement, through to retail training, and on to consumer care in the years following the sale. Allan loves retail, and it permeates everything he does in his role as a rep. 

Allan has been happily married for over 40 years, and has two adult children, three grandchildren, and two most excellent cats. He is an avid windsurfer and tennis player, and his happiest moments are when his family is gathered around him sharing in his latest charcoal-grilled culinary creations.

Jen feels fortunate to have worked in a variety of capacities in the Casual industry over the last 24 years in Canada, the US and China. From her early days working alongside Allan as an assistant at trade shows in the '90s, she became a rep with McElroy Marketing Services in the 2000s; and through the 2010s and early 2020s, she moved into corporate roles in sales leadership and product development with manufacturers in the United States and China.

Jen is passionate about the retail experience. Her many years in product development and manufacturing have given her a unique sensitivity to the consumers' experience of each piece of furniture they sit in; her sales roles, both independent and corporate, have cemented her belief that retail is what drives the health and success of the entire Casual industry. With this in mind, Jen strives to serve her retail partners creatively and efficiently, with a caring nature and a strong attention to detail.

Jen and her husband have two beautiful daughters. As a family, they spend their summers exploring Manitoba's glorious beaches, and their winters hibernating fireside with books, games, good food and good company.
